The imper­a­tive need for changes in inter­na­tion­al and nation­al legal frame­works to address mod­ern slav­ery in sup­ply chains from a vol­un­tary to pre­scrip­tive or manda­to­ry approach is pre­sent­ed in a recent expert report to the New Zealand gov­ern­ment, sup­port­ed by Dame Sara Thorn­ton DPE QBM, UK’s inde­pen­dent Anti-Slav­ery Commissioner.
